We bill according to the number of days of itinerary we build for you.
When you use our Private Guide Services the cost of your custom itinerary is included in the private guide pricing. This applies only to day booked with a private guide.
Consider This (when utilizing our guide services):
The guides associated with A Guide in France are not chosen by their skin color, sexual, religious or political preference and - this is the one the French bureaucracy really hates - our guides are not chosen by their educational pedigree. Many are not accredited by the French Ministry of Tourism which means they have not completed France's rigorous educational and bureaucratic curriculum. This doesn't mean much unless you want us to wear a shiny guide badge when entering the national institutions. It also means we cannot claim to be experts. Quite often, for a personal guide within a monument or museum, you must utilize the guides provided by the individual monument or museum you are visiting. Because these guides specialize in one thing, they can provide tremendous detail. An alternative that we often recommend is to use the hand-held audio guides that are usually available.
The private guides associated with A Guide in France are knowledgable, safe, courteous and above all, friendly. They are fluent in French and English (as well as other languages), and so comfortable to be around that you will feel like you're touring with a long time friend. None of us have a set spiel to feed our guests. For that kind of impersonal service you will need to take one of the thousands of one-size-fits-all tour busses.
If you require an accredited guide we can often arrange one for you through the French government.

But it is also the foundation on which to build a sensible and satisfying travel itinerary. An itinerary is based upon:
A good itinerary also includes sensible planning. Attempt to pack one month of travel into two weeks and the trip will ultimately be exhausting and unfullfilling.

From your answers we can get you started in the right direction.
Using what we know about you, we begin to search for areas in France that will match your tastes.
Once we have compiled a list of possible places, transportation and lodging options, we go over the list with you in detail and build a tentative itinerary.
With the tentative itinerary in hand, we assist you with:
For tourist hot spots, your travel agent can give you travel discounts. For areas off the beaten path, you will need local assistance, someone who speaks French. We will handle that for you. If you would like an on-site guide, we can help with that as well.
